Hristo  Panev is a well-known artist in contemporary Bulgarian art. He works in different fields: painting, black and white drawing, illustration, monumental arts and illustrates books. 

His painting is characterized by expressionism, rich range of colors, different style and thematic variety. Bulgarian iconography and most of all Bulgarian fresco painting influence it. 

Typical series for Hristo Panev are: Fresco, Mythological scenes, Biblical subject, and everyday life themes like love, maternity, music. 

Black and white drawings are characterized by use of clean line only. In terms of feeling, the drawings present poetry.

He uses zgraffito and dry fresco in his monumental works. Hristo Panev is a restless spirit always striving for uniqueness in contemporary Bulgarian art.

Hristo Panev was born in 1942 in the village of Krepost, Hascovo district. In 1969 graduated in graphics from the Sts Cyril and Methodius University of Veliko Turnovo.1976 -member of the Union of Bulgarian Artist.

> Europe: Hammeln (1991), Hannover (1992,1996), Munster (1992), Hammelburg (1993), Bern (1993), Bremgarten (1993), Viena (1994), Mössingen (1997,1998). 

> International salon of invention and innovation: Sofia (1997) - gold medal, USA- Pittsburgh (1998) - gold medal, Cyprus (1998) - gold medal, Casablanca (1998) - silver medal 

Work of the artist are in possession of galleries and private collections in Austria, Belgium, Germany, India, Mexico, France, Switzerland, Turkey, Japan, USA, Bulgaria, and other countries
